Andrews we hardly knew he

As we get our minds set for week 2, once again Eagles Pro Bowl offensive lineman Shawn Andrews has been lost for the season. It is hard to question an injury, but you certainly can question Andrews passion for the game.

Coming out of college many people criticized Philly for trading up to acquire Shawn, but if you saw his debut you knew it was not a mistake. When Andrews has been healthy he has been arguably one of the best lineman in the league. But since the start of his career it has been a big When he is healthy, Andrews including this season will have missed a total off over 45 games in his 6 year career. This is something that Coach Reid did not expect when they drafted him. You can't say it has been a bad pick by the Eagles because he has been very effective when he has played unlike some other top draft picks (Kevin Kolb, Tony Hunt, Freddie Mitchell).

You definitely can question his desire to play, whether it has been the depression battles he has had, or back problems from running sprints. (Which should not happen if you are in shape). Andrews career may be over as an Eagle, it is really a shame especially for his brother Stacy Andrews who was brought in to basically get him in gear. I was upset to hear that he will miss another season, but I know am off the Winston Justice bashing, I believe he is over the Osi Umenyora game from two years ago and will be a very solid tackle for the Birds.

More Notes gathered from last night:

- Cliff Lee should be considered for the Cy Young award

- Carlos Ruiz is another Philly who is extremely underratted

- Andre Igoudala apparently may be playing more point guard this season, ( Just listen to Eddie Jordan and the Sixers will be back in the playoffs)
