Week 2 Picks

It's tough not to look bad when you're competition goes 14-2. So as much as I hate to give the man his props, Big Fred was damn near spot on with his picks. Good call. Well onto my picks for the week:

Falcons over Panthers (I think the Panthers offense has a nice game but, the Panthers defense didn't impress me last week. Ryan and the offense at home will be too much for the Panthers.)

Vikings over Lions (Adrian Peterson destroys inferior competition.)

Packers over Bengals (I hope Ochocinco scores and we get to see him attempt the leap.)

Titans over Texans (Titans looked good in their loss on the road against the champs. Texans looked bad in their loss on at home against a rookie QB and coach.)

Raiders over Chiefs (Raiders defense looked very good against San Diego. Raiders were also very successful running the ball. If Russell can learn to hit an open receiver, I think they could be competitive every week. Chiefs played well against Baltimore, but scored 14 of their 28 points because of long returns.)

Jets over Patriots (Pats defense was suspect for Mayo injury. Jets defense looks like it could be dominant. I like the swagger the Jets are playing with. Ryan is really getting these guys motivated.)

Eagles over Saints (Kolb has had limited action in his career. If instead of throwing a pick six after driving the Eagles inside the ten, he throws a touchdown maybe McNabb never plays for the Eagles again. One pass has made Kolb's reputation. I think he does well against a defense that gave up 27 points to the Lions.)

Redskins over Rams (The Rams are terrible.)

Jaguars over Cardinals (Home game for the Jags and they played the Colts very tough. I know the 49ers are supposed to be improved, but there's no excuse for a good team to lose at home to the Niners. Guess the Cards aren't a good team.)

Seahawks over 49ers (The Seahawks have been flying under the radar because of their terrible 2008. They are a completely different team with Hasselback under center.)

Bills over Buccaneers (The Bills were one bad decision from upsetting the Patriots.)

What were you smoking pick of the week?
Bears over Steelers (I hope I don't get burned by Cutler again, but the Steelers weakness is pass defense especially with Polamalu out. The Steelers running game is more hype than production.)

Ravens over Chargers (Flacco keeps making the steps towards stardom. Chargers were lucky to beat a team everybody expected to be terrible.)

Broncos over Browns (Home game for Denver.)

Cowboys over Giants (I think Dallas will force Eli to show his real colors. The place is going to be packed and loud. Dallas can get after the QB. It will come down to stopping the run game.)

Colts over Dolphins (Manning to Wayne is going to make it a long day for the Dolphins.)

The Shiffers over Pigs are Slow (The leading point getters of week one will keep on rolling.)
