Back to the Ship

The Phillies behind about 50 homers last night advanced back to the World Series. The beat the crap out of the Dodgers last night sending them home in 5 games for the second straight season. You have to wonder what is going through the mind of everyone on LA, this is essentially the same team that Philly smoked last year, but the big difference now is that they have a ton a players up for free agency this season.

I have to say no matter who we face in the World Series, I am a bit concerned about the starting rotation. Lee and Martinez are solid but Cole Hamels is not the same clutch pitcher he was last year. He received a ton of run support last night and he still couldn't get out of the 5th inning. I will say that the Phils lineup can match up with almost any pitcher in the major leagues. Here are a few thoughts for the day, I will be back later with my WEEK 7 PICKS:


- I wonder how Charlie Manuel is going to set up his starting rotation for the Series, I would go with Lee game 1, Martinez game 2 and Blanton Game 3.


- Steve Phillips what the hell are you doing, at least if you are going to cheat on your wife do it with somebody that doesn't look like she is packing downstairs.


- Leave it to a Wide Receiver to be unhappy after a team wins, Steve Smith is just another diva who only cares about how many times he catches the ball and not if his team wins.

- Terrell Pryor's high school coach says OSU could use him better, does he mean by playing him at wide receiver instead of quarterback, anyways shut the hell up your a high school coach!

- You have to feel for Sam Bradford, he opts not to enter the 2009 draft to come back for a national title and now it appears his season is over. I wonder where his draft stock is at now?


- Russell Martin you are again a loser


- The SEC suspended the officials from the Florida vs Arkansas game, I am glad at least one conference had the balls to do this, that particular officiating crew is stuck back in the 70's and if you saw the call they made in the Florida game you would agree with this.


- Interesting Thursday Night game between FSU and North Carolina, the seminoles need a win to keep their slim bowl hopes alive while the Tar Heels need a big win in conference if they want any shot at an ACC Title.

- Russell Martin sucks
