Wow after a great day of college football yesterday, one thing that I did not expect was the beating Penn State put on Michigan. I was attending the Navy game so I didn't get to watch it in person but judging from the highlights the Nittany Lions put a hurting on the Wolverines.
After Michigan scored on their opening drive PSU's defense took over and the Wolverines were screwed. Penn State which got big contributions from Quarless, Zug and Clarke were able to move the ball up and down the field marching to a 35-1o win. This is really impressive considering Michigan gave Iowa everything they could handle and the game was at the BIG House.
Penn State just stepped back into the Big Ten Title picture and if they can beat Ohio State they will have a good shot at it. PSU has really come a long way this season with huge improvements from their offensive line. My prediction is that the rest of the season they will not be somebody you will want to face.
Here are a few thoughts on the weekend thus far:
- Florida continues to escape despite Tebow making crucial mistakes, can they really keep this up?
- What a win for Navy over Wake Forest, the Midshipmen continue to face big time opponents and hold their own, this may be the best Navy team that I have seen in a while.
- Alabama really got lucky yesterday, my boy Lane Kiffin will not have such poor clock management once he gets his quarterback next year.
- Right now Texas is the best team in the country that nobody is talking about, I wonder if they would have beaten a healthy Oklahoma team would they be Number 1 in the BCS right now?
- Who is going to take down Machida, the spider Anderson Silva should move up and challenge him but who knows if that will ever happen
- A lot of good matchups today for the NFL, hopefully the Bengals can get it done against the Bears
