Sorry for the delay in posts. I was kind of embarrassed to show my face after my picks last week. Here are some thoughts on the past week.
They sure made it interesting this last week, but the Phillies have clinched their third straight division title. The Rockies magic number is down to 1 and the Cardinals have cooled off, so it looks like the Phils are going to finish at worst 2nd in the NL, which means it looks like its going to be the Rockies in the NLDS. The Dodgers have lost four straight and are now tied with the Phils in the loss column. Despite the worry about clinching, the Phillies are actually in position to get home field advantage.
The Eagles did what they were supposed to do against the Chiefs. Kevin Kolb and LeSean McCoy filled in excellently for the injured McNabb and Westbrook. DeSean Jackson and Brent Celek are playing like Pro Bowlers. The defense did its best to put the Saints game in the past.
I think the Eagles signing Trotter is a low risk/high reward situation. If Trotter can play a little bit, the deal is worth it for his locker room presence. If he can't play at all, they can cut their losses and move on. If he can play good, then the Eagles just solved their middle linebacker problem.
Typical Penn State choke job.
Picks will be up later.
