One down, three to go

Last night and early this morning the Philadelphia Phillies pulled off a huge game one Victory in the NLCS. While the Dodgers manufactured their runs, the Phillies scored all of there in the 5th and 8th innings. What a big home run hit by Ibanez last night, that turned out to be the difference in the game.

I thought overall Hamels pitched pretty well, if Utley turns that double play in the 5th he is out the inning and the Phils are ahead 5-1. You could tell by Hamels body language that he thought he was out of it, but Utley and Rollins uncharacteristically did not execute. Just by watching last night's game you can already tell that these teams are evenly matched and that every game should be fun to watch.

Overall I really don't hate too many member of the Dodgers, with the exception of their jackass catcher Russell Martin. I have never seen somebody run their mouth and be as anti-clutch as him, you can tell he is still bitter towards Victorino. Big difference is Shane is clutch!


Tonight Pedro gets the call and I have to say I feel very confident with him on the mound. Not because of his past history with LA, but because like I said earlier Martinez is playing for one more deal before he retires. If scouts see him perform like he did for most of the season with the Phils he should get one.

Frog Face Padilla will start for the Dodgers, he definitely has great stuff but if you get to him early he tends to lose control. If Philly wins today, then the series should be over in 5, all of the pressure is on LA, hopefully we go up 2-0.

Here are a few thoughts and the CLIP OF THE DAY:


- Cincinatti beat South Florida last night with their second string quarterback handily. This just showed that if the Bearcats don't have a slip up, they will definitely be in the BCS picture.


- I really hope USC trounces Notre Dame this weekend, then everyone can get off the Clausen bandwagon.


- Did I mention that I hate Russell Martin


- You think Al Davis ever thinks about how badly he has screwed up what was once a great franchise. Any coach with have a clue will never want to work with him.


- Russell Martin sucks
