NLCS

After a very exciting and tight NLDS against the Rockies, the Phillies head to LA to take on the Dodgers for the second straight year. The Phils disposed of the Dodgers in five games last en route to their second title in the hundred plus years of the franchise.

Offense
The Dodgers have a very potent lineup. There's no team in the league that would not find a place on their team for Matt Kemp or Andre Either. They also have arguably the most dangerous right handed batter of this generation in Manny Ramirez. They have scrappy underrated glue guys like Casey Blake. They have a speedster table setter in Rafael Furcal. They can play small ball. They can hit bombs. Despite everything the Dodgers offense does, the Phillies offense does it too, but better. The Phillies have power from 1-6 (with the exception of Shane, but he's got some pop). They have the highest steal success rate in the league. The Phillies are even getting production out of the seven and eight spots.
Edge to the Phillies.

Defense
The Phillies have a really underrated defense. It's probably the best in the NL. The Dodgers, though, probably have the second best defense.
Insignificant edge to the Phils.

Starting Pitching
The Phillies are putting two starters into the bullpen. The Dodgers are starting Vicente Padilla. Ginormous edge to the Phillies.

Bullpen
The Phillies are putting two starters in their bullpen. Park was added to roster and hasn't pitched in a month, but is a huge upgrade. Madson, and maybe Eyre are the only reliable arms in the bullpen. 11 blown saves. The Dodgers have a flame throwing closer in Broxton. Two killer lefties (and a third as well) in Kuo and Sherill. If the starters can go five, it might be enough for the Dodgers.
Big Edge to the Dodgers

Bench
The Phillies have Francisco and that it. The Dodgers have Thom, Hudson, and some other guys, that are better than Cairo.
Edge Dodgers

Coaching
Charlie is perfect for this team. Torre has four rings and 14 straight playoff appearances.
Push

Verdict
The Phillies know how to win and they live for the bright lights. The Dodgers are a very good team, but the Phillies are a better team. The Dodgers advantages in this series are their bullpen and bench. They have a late inning edge, but the Phils could put a lot of games out of reach with their offense against those shaky Dodger starters. I really want to say Phillies in five, but the Dodgers are good enough to win another.
Phillies in six.
